Sir Dr.C.V. Raman graduated high school from A.V.N. High School.
Mrs.A.V.N. College rememberd the late illustrious physicist, Sir C.V. Raman, who had close links with the institution. The college celebrated the birth anniversary of the Nobel laureate on November 7. Raman had studied in the Mrs.A.V.N. College High School while his father was working as a Lecturer in the Mrs. A.V.N. College, who later shifted to Trichinopoly.
Young Raman always stood first in his class and was a voracious reader. At the young age of 13, he completed reading his father's books on science. At that tender age, he was sent to the Presidency College, Madras, for higher studies. He was awarded Nobel Prize in 1930 for what later came to be known as the "Raman Effect
